Stauper's flotation technology is in commercial operation on more than 20 full-scale installations, and upgrading vessels that are already in service is part of that record - for operators in the North Sea, offshore Brazil, and on SAGD facilities in Canada.
Our Joint Industry Project takes that same approach into horizontal degassers, and qualifies it for the partners themselves: on their vessels, against the internals they run today, with their own people involved.
The prototype is a 40 m³/h (approx. 6,000 bwpd) skid that can switch between a conventional inlet cyclone system and Staupers patented Stauper Coalescence Chamber inside the same vessel - same fluids, same instruments, same day.
Each partner leaves the programme having seen two ways to get more capacity out of equipment they already own:
Converting an existing degasser, with no added footprint or weight.
A simplified new-build where one vessel does the work of a separate CFU and degasser.
Field testing concludes by the end of 2026.
